The Law Office of Gary L. Henry is a full-service law practice founded by Gary L. Henry in 2019.
A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Gary graduated from Chattanooga Central High School and attended college at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. After graduating from the University of the South, Gary obtained a law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he served as a student attorney in the U.T. Legal Clinic and as Third-Year Editor of the Tennessee Law Review. While in law school, Gary received Academic Excellence Awards in Advocacy Clinic, Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure, Evidence, Legal Process, Legislation, Negotiations, Pretrial Litigation, Trial Practice, and Torts. Gary also received the Walter L. Lusk Scholarship, the Judge Harry W. Laughlin Jr. Case Note Award, and the Robert E. Pryor Award of Excellence in Advocacy. Upon graduation from law school, Gary was elected to the Order of the Coif.
Licensed in both Tennessee and Georgia, Gary has handled several types of cases over the course of his career, including cases involving personal injuries, property disputes, banking issues, business matters, domestic relations, and criminal defense. Gary has tried both bench and jury trials in Tennessee and Georgia on a wide range of legal issues.
Gary is also involved in the local legal community, having served as a coordinator of the local high school mock trial competition and provided pro bono legal services to those in need. Gary is a former president of the local federal bar association and has served as the treasurer and continuing legal education chairman of that organization in the past. Gary is also a Barrister member of the Justices Ray L. Brock Jr. - Robert E Cooper American Inn of Court, an association comprised of local attorneys and judges that is devoted to advancing the rule of law and promoting professionalism.
Gary is a graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law Class of 2012. He was selected as a Rising Star by the Mid-South Super Lawyers publication from 2012 through 2020 and has been selected as a Super Lawyer by the same publication for 2023 and 2024.
Gary is married to Cassandra Greene Henry of Ringgold, Georgia. They have three daughters, Audrey Caroline, Juliet Louise, and Scarlet Lynn, and one son, Gabriel Hamilton. Gary and his family live in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
